The live-testing instrument for zinc oxide surge arresters is used to evaluate the electrical performance of each phase of a zinc oxide surge arrester (MOA). This instrument is suitable for on-site live testing of zinc oxide surge arresters across all voltage levels, as well as for factory and acceptance tests conducted in the laboratory under de-energized conditions. By measuring parameters such as total current and resistive current, it can promptly detect hazardous defects, including internal insulation moisture absorption and valve element aging, in zinc oxide surge arresters.

The power supply features a high-power switching power supply that outputs pure 45 Hz and 55 Hz sine waves with automatic voltage boosting, capable of delivering up to 10 kV. It also automatically filters out 50 Hz interference, making it suitable for on-site testing in environments with severe electromagnetic interference, such as substations.
